Wishing in Vain

I'm not enjoying blogspot. I would certainly like to tell the staff to allow html embedding.

Digital comics is a medium I intend to explore to it's furthest ends. This is my first plunge into that world after a year or so of dipping my toes in the water.

The Onion Space Program

A Stunning Animated Film

This is a gorgeous short film animated and directed by Ryan Woodward. And you really must watch it full screen.

This film embodies why I love animation. If I understand right, it's all rotoscoped (meaning he traced over video of actual dancers. The same way old Disney movies were made.) I believe it was a combination of traditional and digital media, but I'm not totally sure how exactly he did it.

But whatever processed he used, the results are breathtaking. Interesting drawing style, and touching concept. There's really nothing bad I can say about it. (I even like the song a lot. I'm learning to play it.)

I hope I can make things like that someday soon. Maybe a film about a stick figure who's trying to build himself up into a real person...?
